About the Foundation
"People in places many of us never heard of, whose names we can’t pronounce or even spell, are speaking up for themselves ... they want human dignity and a voice in their own futures. They want their children to grow up strong and healthy and free."

Hubert H. Humphrey
38th vice president
under lyndon johnson
(1911-1978)
THE CALL

The Sixteenth of May Foundation is an international nonprofit organization whose Call today is to promote humanitarian involvement in Sudan, by building villages complete with an orphanage, school, medical clinic, library and sports fields. This will be achieved through relief and rehabilitation as a means of achieving sustainable development and to commemorate the lives lost and celebrate the victory of peace, justice and equality amongst the Sudanese people.

THE DREAM

The Sixteenth of May Foundation will not accomplish everything that it has dreamed, but it will accomplish nothing that it hasn’t dreamed and that is why the Call of today, becomes the foundation on which the Dream of tomorrow can be built for all lives that are worthy of respect. This blue print of a self-sufficient Dream includes more villages in other areas of the Sudan and becomes the very thread of hope. Such hope will transverse the country with the willingness to not only survive, but flourish as a nation and as a people.
